Her performance put her second in the athletics club’s all-time list of ladies, and it was the fastest 10-mile time by a female Strider for over 15 years.

Helen Robinson, a 2013 World Championship Cross Country trialist, like Allison, smashed almost three minutes off her previous best time to record 1 hour 15 mins 6 secs in the 10-mile race.

Robinson also moved into second place on the Striders FV40 all-time list with this performance.

Craig Ward (V35) came close to his previous best time on the very undulating course, which had punishing hills at 1, 3 and eight miles, and he finished in 1 hour 14 mins 42 secs.

Matt Lyner (V40) made a welcome return to road racing and ran a creditable time of 1 hr 32 mins 57 secs.
