Louth Athletic Club: Runners compete on national stage

Ten Louth AC athletes were selected to represent Lincolnshire at the Cross-Country Inter-Counties Championships in Birmingham last Sunday.

Among those competing were under-13 boys Lucas George-Jones and Caleb Stephenson, under-13 girls Hannah Reid, Ellie Odlin and Evie Odlin, under-15 boys Josh Tarrant, under-17 boys James Larder, under-20 men Declan Godfrey, under-20 women Natalie Stainton and senior women Kerry Stainton.

It was a fantastic experience for the the club’s athletes to compete against the best in the country at this classic event.

Louth Athletic Club runner Josh Tarrant ran a brilliant race to win the under 15s boys’ race at the Barton AC Open Cross Country meeting earlier this month.

Josh (pictured) has been getting stronger all season and victory, on a challenging, muddy course, was the reward for all of the hard work put in.

Hannah Reid also had a great run to finish second in the under 13s girls’ race, and Caleb Stephenson ran well to finish third in the under 13s boys’ event.

n Louth AC host an Easter Fun Run (or walk) at Hubbards Hills on Sunday, March 27 where all finishers receive a chocolate treat.

Entry costs £2.50 per person and entrants can choose to run, walk or jog one, two or four laps of the hilly course. Register at the Hubbards Hills cafe.
