The top four teams are now battling for the title, while four more teams are locked on the same number of points in mid-table and the remaining four teams are adrift at the bottom.

At the top, the lead changed hands again as Yorkies’ crushing 34-2 victory over Hornets was enough to see them move ahead of Magpies on shots difference.

Magpies had glided to a 23-3 win against Dreamers in their first game, but were then held to a 15-15 draw in an excellent contest with Highgate Wanderers who grabbed a vital shot on the final end.

Highgate had looked set for a win when a five put them 14-9 in front, but Magpies won the next three ends to go 15-9 ahead before being pegged back.

Wanderers had also left it late in their first game when three shots on the final end against Dreamers gave them a 12-11 win and kept them in third spot, two points behind the leaders and with games in hand.

The Jays are a point further back in fourth and they, too, staged a recovery in their first game to beat Busy Bs 11-10.

They had been 6-0 and 10-7 down, but scored four shots over the last two ends. But they were out of luck when facing Wasps who eased to a 18-5 victory.

Two Plus One also staged a grandstand finish in their game against In A Minute. Having been 9-1 behind they turned the game around to lead 12-9 before being brought back to 12-12 and then finishing with two doubles for a 16-12 victory.
