Louth Cycling UK wins county award

Louth Cycling UK have won a county award for their success in getting people on their bikes.

The group was awarded the Paul Enderby Memorial Trophy at the Cycling UK Lincolnshire annual meeting, held at The Hill Top Social Club in Gainsborough. The trophy is awarded for promoting cycling activities, and throughout the year the Louth group raised cash for local charities through their work.

The West Lincolnshire Trophy was awarded to Cycling UK Gainsborough member Daniel Nicholson, while Melanie Carroll was awarded the BSA Merit Cup for setting up a ladies’ cycling group in Lincoln and also won the Cycling UK Lincolnshire Photography Trophy.

Cycling UK Lincolnshire is the new name for CTC Lincolnshire which promotes touring cycling in the county and organises rides into the countryside along quiet roads and Sustrans cycle routes.

The club also fights for cyclists’ rights and welfare as road users.

Their rides are for all abilities, from beginners and new riders, and are open to non-members.
