Louth Indoor Bowls Club: JCB construct daunting lead
Two solid wins maintained their five-point advantage over Waltham who also won both of their games.
The leaders won 18-9 against Castaways and beat Webbos 25-12, while Waltham also beat Castaways (18-12) and came good at the end of a tough game against Square Pegs to win 15-10.

Hide AdDespite beating Webbos 16-13, third-placed Sturgeons slipped four points adrift of the top two as they also lost 14-9 to next-bottom Pips who then drew 16-16 with Kingfishers to move five points clear of bottom team Webbos.
* Division Two leaders Sleepwalkers defeated Wise Guys 14-9 to maintain their three-point advantage over Fledglings who won 19-9 against fourth-placed Saints.
Backwoodsmen failed to close the gap on the top two teams when losing 18-9 to Louth, but only six points separate the top five.
There was an important game involving the bottom two teams with Doves beating Scorpions 16-10 to leave the defeated team six points adrift on the bottom rung.

Hide Ad* Noel and June Brougham top Division Two of the Australian Pairs after beating Barry Jordan and Pat Morley 21-12.
But Barry Fox and Robin Barrow remained two points behind with a 13-10 victory over Alan Houghton and Mal Hewson. Crucially they have two games in hand.
* Brian and Val Sherry were beaten for the first time in the Tuesday Mixed Pairs as they lost 13-10 to Trevor Craven and Jean Dracass, but still hold a four-point lead.
Graham Wood and Eileen Rayner jumped to the top of Division Two with a 16-9 win over Barry and Ros Toyn, but the next six pairs are all just two points behind.

Hide Ad* The club will be hosting a stage of the Open Singles Circuit over the Easter weekend of March 26 and 27 with some of the country’s top-ranked bowlers taking part. More details to follow.
* During April, the club intend to hold an open day for non-members to go along and try their hand at the game.
A junior open day is also in the pipeline with the intention of encouraging youngsters to take up the game.
