Maltby: Huge win is perfect boost for brave team-mate Kyle

Brave Kyle has been in hospital in Leeds recovering from open heart surgery.

But he was able to make the trip to see his team-mates at the weekend and Maltby responded in perfect fashion by thrashing Eckington 12-1 in the Division G encounter.

Luke Clegg, Joe Hufton and Will Mitchell all scored twice for Maltby and the rout was completed by Jacob Brodie, Max Corns, Connor Hall, Omar Harrag, Nick McHale and Tyler Morris.

Lloyd Malarkey was the Maltby match-winner in Under-12 Division D Green as his double gave them a 2-1 win at Woodman.

Jack Slater scored four times as Maltby Under-13s beat West Green 8-4 in the third round of the County Cup.

Maltby’s other goals came from Daniel Beighton and Alex Manewell, who both netted twice.

There was a Maltby derby in Under-14 Division C Green as Maltby Juniors faced Maltby Main.

And it was Juniors who took the spoils in a 3-1 win with goals form Connor McMahon, Danny Nunns and Ben Warcup.

There was also a Maltby derby in Under-16 Division E but this time it was Maltby Main who grabbed the bragging rights as they beat Juniors 4-1,

Sam Thompson got the consolation for Juniors.
