Throughout 2015 the club’s captains held fundraising events to raise money for their chosen charity which this year was Macmillan Cancer Support.

Men’s captain Guy Hardcastle, ladies’ captain Hefina Brumpton, seniors’ captain Tom Hunter and junior skipper Charlie Hinchliffe, along with a group of willing helpers, were involved in various efforts for this worthwhile cause.

Events held throughout the year included an am-am competition when golfers from across the county took part.

There were also many social events organised by the ladies and the ongoing bunker fines where anyone unlucky enough to find their ball in a bunker next to the 18th green was obliged to put £1 into the captains’ charity box.

A total of £4,156.57 was raised during the year and a cheque was presented last week on behalf of the club to Jamie Davenport the local Macmillan co-ordinator.

The captains wish to thank everyone who contributed either as helpers, competitors or visitors.
