Market Rasen Golf: Joy maintains early season form

Market Rasen GC ladies played their first medal of the year last Wednesday under difficult conditions.

But Joy Purkiss continued her run of excellent play with a nett score of 76 to finish a stroke clear of Helen Gibbard who took second place on a countback from Linda Reeve.

The competition was followed by the lady captain’s annual dinner during which the prizewinners of the winter eclectic were announced.

Division One was won by Sheilah Mitchell, while Helen Gibbard took the Division Two spoils.

Bridget Holmes and Aileen Sellers also received the Gemini Trophy for topping the winter league pairs standings.
