The Best scorers for Louth were the rink of Alan Watson, Mally Hewson, Tony Powell and John Welsh which won 30-8.
Skips of the other four winning rinks were Colin Smith (28-12), Keith Kelly (25-16), Horace Cope (23-13) and team captain George Willoughby, whose rink scored six shots on the penultimate end to halt a fightback by their opponents and secure a 23-14 win.
The result just kept Louth at the top of Division Two by one point ahead of Sleaford.
The club are pleased to say that Allan Dent and Jeff McCue have reached the final stages of the national Men’s Over 60 Pairs after beating opponents from South Forest (Mansfield) IBC in closely contested match that was only decided by an extra end.
The finals will be played over a two-day period at Nottingham IBC starting on Wednesday, March 30.
The county under 18 singles quarter-finals, staged at Louth, attracted a good number of spectators who saw some excellent bowling from the young players.
In the club leagues there were a couple of shock results in the Ladies Triples.
Pride of place goes to bottom team Bunnies who were hopping for joy after recording their first win of the season when hanging on to beat second-placed Follies 16-13. So well done to Sue Cox, Audrey Skeath and Ros Toyn.
Leaders Flyers were also shot down 16-13 by a Birdies trio of June Brougham, Yvonne Cooper and Kathleen Kimpton but still have a four-points advantage over Follies.
Anglers, who were in third spot, lost 19-6 to Canaries who took over their opponents perch.
In Division Two of the Australian Pairs, two wins for Barry Fox and Robin Barrow saw them open a three-point gap at the top.
They were on top form to beat previous leaders Noel and June Brougham 22-10 and also defeat Barry Jordan & Pat Morley 21-7.
