His nett 70 was enough for first place, pipping Mike Lee on countback.

Gary Willis was third and J. Wellberry fourth.

Neil Timby’s 75 was the best gross.

In the ladies’ section, 18 competitors turned out for a Rocking Roll Up.

Six teams of three played over 10 holes with one score counting on the first four holes, with each player having to score at least once, two scoring on the next four holes and all three on the last two holes.

Winning with 38 stableford points were Liz Harris, Ann Gullick and Jean Markham.

The runners up with 36 points were Kath Yates, Barbara Unwin and Lynn Worthington.
