More success for Gainsborough duathlete Amy Grocock

International duathlete Amy Grocock, of Gainsborough, has enjoyed more success -- this time in another qualifier for the World Championships.

The Clumber Park Duathlon in Nottinghamshire gave athletes the chance to shake off the winter blues and test their fitness at the start of the new season.

Amy had not tackled the course before, but she was placed 16th overall and won her age category by two seconds. In the opening 10k run, she recorded a time of 42.59 minutes, putting her in 18th position as she went into the 40k bike-ride. After a solid ride of one hour, 14 minutes, 28 seconds, she was well placed for the final 5k run, which Amy completed in 23.04 minutes, guving her an overall time of two hours, 23.27 minutes. Amy’s next outing is the RAF Scampton Sprint Duathlon on Saturday, April 9, which she won last year.
