British Superbikes: Rasen riders O'Halloran and Kiyonari head for Brands Hatch

O’Halloran will be hoping to continue his run of podium finishes as he bids retain his top six position in the rider standings to be assured a place in the end of season shoot-out for the championship.

He lies in a comfortable third place on 146 points, but there is a queue of riders all waiting in the wings should he slip up.

Meanwhile, a rejuvenated Kiyonari scored well at Thruxton in the last round and will be looking to consolidate that this time around.

Kiyo has just returned from racing in the Suzuka eight-hour race in Japan where he finished in sixth place.

He was racing in the all-Japanese Kagayama Suzuki team with former British Superbike star Yukio Kagayama and Naomichi Uramoto.

They would have finished further up the order but for a flat tyre which caused an unscheduled pit stop.

Free practice begins on Friday at 10.15am followed by a second session at 3.20pm. Free practice three is on Saturday at 10.20am prior to the three-stage qualifying session from 3.05pm.

If either rider gets through to the final stage he will go out on track on his own for a one-lap charge to decide pole position.

A short warm-up follows on Sunday at 9.35am to make final preparations for the first of two 20-lap races at 1.30pm. The fastest lap of race one will determine grid positions for race two which is off at 4.30pm.
