Hill climbs the ladder

The 17-year-old has been selected for the Triumph Young Guns scheme, as one of 10 riders who will now compete over the next five months to win a fully supported Triumph Daytona 675, to race in the Triumph Triple Challenge alongside the British Superbike Championship.

Dad Mark explained what the experience would entail for the youngster: “Josh will travel to four seminars that will test his fitness, race setup skills, media and interview techniques, the final of which will take place at the Triumph live festival at Mallory Park as Triumph celebrate their 110th birthday on 31st August.”

“Josh will be doing on track demonstrations and media interviews throughout the weekend.”

The current Superstock 600 season began in May for Hill, with testing at Cadwell Park in preparation for the first race at Snetterton later this month.

And he’s happy with his 2012 bike.

Hill said: “It’s really smooth, I’ve so much more confidence in the bike compared to last years’ bike so hopefully it means we can have improved results.”

The youngster’s progress has been aided by a number of local sponsors, who Mark was keen to thank.

He said: “We have to express our thanks to the people who make racing possible for Josh.”
