Thirty-one-year-old Ben Wotton has been interested in motorbikes since he was aged seven when he used to ride his Suzuki TS50 along the riverbanks of Little Hale Fen.

But it was not until 2007 when he gained his road licence and spent the next few years riding various road bikes around Lincolnshire’s lanes.

Seven years after he passed his test, Ben was out on a ride with his father to Cadwell Park. Mesmerised by the riders at the track, he took the decision that evening to start racing motorcycles.

Within four days he had purchased his first track bike – a Suzuki GSXR600.

Encouraged by a couple of friends he met a track day, Ben began racing last year when he completed several rounds of a couple of different championships, changing his GSXR for a Triumph and removing his rookie bib after he gained his Clubman licence.

Ben said: “This will be my first full season racing, competing in Thundersport GB which, apart from BSB, is a top level racing club.

“I’m competing in the pre National 600 championship on my Triumph Daytona 675R in nine rounds on some of the best circuits in the country.”
