As the race got underway on Sunday Tom settled into seventh place on the first lap before making his way forward.

He was circulating in the tyre tracks of his brother before making his pass stick on lap seven to chase after fellow Lincolnshire rider Matt Truelove, who he passed one lap later.

After dispatching Billy McConnell he was up into second place behind Chrissy Rouse.

Tom passed Rouse on the start and finish straight on lap 11 and although Rouse challenged him for the lead on numerous occasions on the final lap Tom hung on and powered his Honda Racing Fireblade over the finish line to take his second win of the current campaign by a margin of 0.09s.

He also set the fastest lap of the race with a 1m 50.092s - 97.08mph and is leading the championship on 61 points.

He said: “I'm absolutely over the moon to be able to turn the weekend around with a win, I felt like I was really up against it until warm-up.

"The setting we had this morning gave me the boost I needed and after warm-up I knew we could fight for the win.

“That's my second race win and I'm leading the Superstock 1000 Championship. Thank you to the team for turning the Fireblade upside down for me; it's such a strong package and everything I wanted a bike to be in that race.”

Tim completed his qualifying in fourth place on the Buildbase Suzuki which earned him a start from the head of row two.

As the race unfolded Tim was circulating in a close fourth place until his brother made a pass on him on lap eight.

When Tom passed Truelove one lap later Tim took the opportunity to follow him but Truelove was intent on claiming his position back and the pair battled it out over the remainder of the race with Truelove crossing the finish line for fourth by the smallest of margins, 0.09s ahead from Tim, who took fifth place and 11 points.

Tim said: “Smashed my PB lap time and top five all weekend.

"I cannot thank the Buildbase Suzuki team enough for their support and for giving me such a great bike! Can’t wait for the next race at Silverstone.”
