North Kelsey sidecar driver Todd Ellis and passenger Charlie Richardson travelled north of the border to Knockhill for a round of the Molson Group British Sidecar championship - where they recorded a brace of second places to retain second place in the overall standings.

Ellis and Richardson claimed pole position and as the first race got underway they took the lead.

Kershaw/Charlwood moved up into second place behind the current British champions and by lap six were just a second behind, but on lap eight Kershaw made his pass stick and Ellis was relegated to second place.

Although they were in close company with the leaders Ellis/Richardson were never in a position to challenge for the lead and crossed the finish line in second place just under a second away from the win.

As the second race got underway it was Kershaw/Charlwood who led the way with Ellis/Richardson on the case just a few yards behind them.

The two Santander Salt teammates extended their lead at the front some 10 seconds ahead of the pack and on the final lap it was a close run chase to the finish line with Kershaw/Charlwood taking their second win of the weekend from Ellis/Richardson who now trail their rivals by 20 points in the championship chase.

The next round is at Donington Park this weekend where the sidecars will once again enjoy two races in the penultimate round of the current campaign.

The timetable for Donington Park is: Friday - free practice 12.30pm, qualifying 5.20pm. Saturday - 10 lap race 5.25pm. Sunday - warm up 9am, 10 lap race 1.55pm.
