The former Walker Cup star has played - and won - in events all over the world, including Australia and America.

However, he is scheduled to tee it up tomorrow in the first round of the Hero Indian Open at the New Delhi Golf Club.

It is the first time Kimsey will have played in India and he said he was looking forward to the challenge.

Kimsey has made an impressive start to his first season on the star-studded European Tour.

He’s currently ranked inside the tour’s top 100 players and has already secured two top 50 finishes - including a best of joint ninth in the Qatar Masters.

His last outing was in the Joburg Open when rounds of 70 and 71 meant he failed to make the final round an an event cut short by bad weather.

He said: “I battled back after my first seven holes to give myself a chance of weekend golf but didn’t quite do enough to make it.

“However, I felt a lot better about my game and I’m looking forward to a few days to tighten everything up before my next tournament (India).”

It promises to be a step into the unknown for Kimsey who turns 24 on March 21.

The New Delhi lay-out is a testing one at more than 7,600 yards and features the 652-yard 15th and 631-yard final hole.
