Nettleton triner and Rasen jockey team up for Redcar win


Market Rasen jockey Duran Fentiman rode Tricky Dicky to victory by two lengths, at 33/1, at Redcar.
Fentiman, who is now based in Malton and rides for top trainer Tim Easterby, tucked the three-year-old in close behind in the early stages of the ‘Redcar Racecourse Cheapest Admission in Great Britain Handicap’.

Hide AdHe then chased the leaders to get to the front inside the final furlong, and despite edging left he was kept up to his work by Fentiman who claimed his first winner of the new season.


Fentiman is now back in the UK after riding in Bahrain and Qatar where he won a $200,000 race on Basic Knight.
Williams was delighted with his first win on the flat.
“Duran gave him a cracking ride,” he said. “The horse came to Stone Stables here last year with the future in mind.
“He was big and backward then as a two-year-old, but he has trained well and we have got him fit and ready for this season.

“He has been off a racecourse for 194 days so it was a great time to win in a 13-runner race.
“We shall always use Duran if he is available. He is a Market Rasen lad and I’m in Nettleton so we are a real local pairing.”
Olly Williams Racing had their first winner over the sticks on Boxing Day last year.
Xenophon, who had only joined the team 14 days previously, won at Huntingdon Racecourse in the 2m 7.5 furlong Racing FX Online Handicap Chase to give the stable its first National Hunt winner.
