New chair at triathlon club

“I feel very pleased to be the chairman of Louth Tri Club,” Steve said.

“We hope to see lots of new faces out and about this year as well as our club regulars.”

SBR Events has announced it will hold a triathlon again in Louth on September 4, starting at the Meridian Leisure Centre.

Louth Tri Club held their first Aquathon, which saw 28 competitors complete a 400m swim and a 5k run.

This duathlon event was, for many at the club, a warm-up for the full triathlon season which kicks off this month.

Louth Tri Club has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years, with five members competing for team GB in their respective age categories at events across Europe and the USA last year.

Training has expanded to three lanes of swimming on a Saturday and Sunday morning, and five lanes on Wednesday evenings.

There are also turbo sessions held at the Meridian.

Coached bike and running sessions take place regularly.
