New deal for cricket club

SLEAFORD Cricket Club has secured a three-year sponsorship deal.

Turnbull Building and Plumbing Supplies, one of Sleaford’s most successful family businesses for more than a century, has signed a deal to sponsor the 200-year-old club for the next three years.

The London Road ground now has new signage and a new team kit was unveiled this month.

Turnbull’s sponsorship is a major boost for the Sleaford club, which had clinched a major sporting coup for the town when it hosted a match between an ECB under-17 side and Pakistan under-19s yesterday (Tuesday) and today. This was a curtain-raiser to Pakistan’s summer test match series against England U19s which starts at Worcester on Saturday.

Chris Hopkins, commercial director of Turnbull’s, said: “We are delighted to join forces with one of Sleaford’s oldest and greatest assets. Turnbull’s also has a long history of family values and community involvement and we are proud to make our contribution to the town’s sporting success.”

Club chairman Richard Dannatt said: “The club is going from strength to strength across the board, with a junior membership alone of around 200.”

Sleaford’s first team are currently lying in the top five of the ECB Lincolnshire Premier Division, while the seconds are also in the top five of their league.

The sponsorship deal has been a welcome bright spot in a rain-lashed season which has seen several matches cancelled.
