Orienteering

It was a busy weekend for Bassetlaw’s orienteers who competed in four different events.

On Saturday night, four members ran in the British Night Orienteering Championships held in the New Forest. All managed top ten finishes with Ben Beresford sixth (M18), Will Parkinson sixth (M16), Paul Beresford seventh (M45L) and Robert Parkinson third (M55S).

Then on Sunday, Graeme Huggan came 36th on a difficult Blue course at Haddon and Lindop in Derbyshire. Cameron Ridgway seventh on the Orange and Andrew Ridgway 24th on the Short Blue at Roundhay Park in Leeds.

Finally, at the South Central Championships in the New Forest, Will Parkinson came fifth and Robert Parkinson 17th on the Blue, Ben Beresford second on the Short Brown, Paul Beresford tenth on the Brown and Helen Parkinson came third on the Green.

On Saturday there is a Winter League event at Haywood Oaks, near Blidworth and on Sunday there is an East Midlands League event at South Common, in Lincoln.
