Andrew Janney wins Aegir Cycling Club time trial

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club's 10 mile time trial was comfortably won by Andrew Janney.

He clocked 26m 09 to beat Phil Tennysom (27m 56), Stephen Cockerham (29m 22) and Trevor Halstead (33m 29).

The weather was raining with a strong south west wind making cycling hard.

The course was out through Laughton woods then along Carr Lane to Wildsworth returning alongside the River Trent passing through East Stockwith & Walkerith arriving at Morton to head along Laughton Lane to finish at the East Stockwith turning.The final race event of 2020 takes place on Wednesday, with a five mile time trial, meet at Marton Church at 6.15pm with first riders off at 6.30pm.For information contact Trevor Halstead or Daniel Nicholson at Gainsborough Cycles 20 Ropery Road Gainsborough or telephone 01427 617752.

The club also went on their latest leisure ride at the weekend, using the the Two Bridges ride and returning home through Laughton Woods.The riders departed from Roseway in Gainsborough town centre heading over the River Trent then passing through Beckingham, the ride then progressed through Walkeringham arriving at Misterton the ride progressed north following the River Trent to Althorpe.

The ride then crossed the River Trent over Keaby Bridge and headed south through Burringham and East Butterwick, arriving in Susworth the riders departed from the River Trent heading through Laughton Woods. Arriving in Morton the riders followed the River Trent returning into Gainsborough along the riverside cycle path

It was a very pleasant 38 mile ride, with time to view the River Trent, the weather was fine and cycling conditions were good.
