Andy Lewis takes time Aegir Cycling Club time trial honours

Andy Lewis took the honours in Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s five mile time trial.

Andrew Janney came second in the time trial.

The Viking Velo rider clocked 11 min 34 seconds to pip Aegir’s Andrew Janney (pictured) to the victory.

The time trial had no wind cool with sunshine giving riders good cycling conditions.The course started on Carr Lane, with the riders preceding towards East Stockwith along Carr Lane then riding through East Stockwith and Walkerith heading to Morton.

It was then a sprint along Laughton Lane to finish at the junction with Carr Lane.David Lewis (12 minutes 37 seconds) was third, followed by Stephen Cockerham (14 minutes 44 seconds) of Trent Valley Road Club and home rider Trevor Halstead (16 minutes 36 seconds).

On Sunday, club riders enjoyed a slower paced event with a 30 mile leisure ride
