Athletes Jim and Kieran Gillespie making the most of shortened athletics season with PBs and victories

Wragby athletes Jim and Kieran Gillespie tasted success in the penultimate meeting of the shortened athletics season.

Dad Jim won the shot putt (8.37m) and discus (26.48m), both distances were better than he threw at the same venue a couple of weeks earlier.

Kieran competed in the 400m and ran his second-best time ever, getting within half a second of his PB with 55.31 secs.

At the previous event in Nuneaton, Kieran competed in the 100m where he tore up his previous best time with a run in 12.12 seconds, nearly half a second better than his previous PB.

Kieran also ran the 400m in 54.74 seconds for a PB.

Jim won the shot (8.36m) and discus (26.20m), the first time he'd competed in the latter discipline since lockdown.
