Balfe Motorsport teams ready for the GT Cup

Fulbeck-based Balfe Motorsport will be back in the GT Cup at Donington Park at the weekend.

They will be running a McLaren 720S GT3 for the father-and-son team of Stewart and Lewis Proctor and a McLaren 570S of Mike Price and Callum Macleod.

Practice and qualifying are taking place are taking place on Saturday morning, with a 20-minute sprint race at 2.05pm and the 50-minute Enduro at 5.20pm, with a similar format the following day, racing at 1.20pm and 5.30pm.

Proctor senior has previously raced with the Balfe team occasionally over the last two season, having also been a regular in the Pure McLaren Series.

For Price it will be his first time racing a GT4 car, having been a front runner in the Porsche Club Championship for the last couple of years.

His co-driver Macleod is a vastly experienced GT driver, having previously been the British Formula Ford Champion.

“For this season I wanted a new adventure with a new car, new series and new team and sharing the highs and lows with my new team mate too,” said Price.

The Championship takes place over seven weekends, with one meeting per month.

After Donington they move on to Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton Park, Silverstone and back to Donington, before concluding at Snetterton on October 2-3.

Unfortunately for this first meeting it is behind held behind closed doors.
