Boston ABC’s Connor Brazil, Dylan Harmon and Igors Jermoljaev were all challenging for East Midlands challenge belts in a charity boxing event in Nottingham last Saturday.

First up was Harmon who was challenging Jacob Price of the Epic Golden Gloves ABC.

Price begun boxing from range and had his best success in the early part of the first round.

Harmon adjusted his tactics midway through and it proved successful as he went back to the corner the happier boxer.

Harmon increased the intensity in the second round with his hurtful onslaughts.

Price’s boxing at distance no longer had the desired effect as the Boston fighter Harmon slipped and slid his way past the attacks, throwing from the resulting angles to ensure he took the round.

Harmon relentlessly moved forward in the final round as a tired Price resorted to holding.

Harmon still had another gear, however, to gain the decision and bring the light-welterweight title back to Boston.

Fighting in the welterweight category, Jermoljaev who has only just begun to dip his toe in at championship level, was challenging Gursyran Singh of Strelley ABC.

Jermoljaev was straight to work as he unleashed his ferocious arsenal towards the showboating Singh, who was boxing with his hands low.

The Boston fighter, in no mood for messing around, threw big shots that rocked Singh’s head back as he trapped him against the ropes and in the corner.

Jermoljaev’s superior fitness showed as he turned on the style and the Strelley boxer struggled to contain him, with the Boston fighter taking the belt on a unanimous decision.

Brazil was looking to end the evening with a hat-trick of wins as he was pitted against tall southpaw Callum Green of Bracebridge ABC.

In his first senior bout without a headguard Brazil was quickly on the attack with his lightning fast punches hitting home and scoring as Green tried to move in with his own arsenal.

Brazil displayed good patience and commendable footwork as he moved in and out of range and his quickfire combinations looked to have won him the round.

The second three minutes were much closer, with both fighters having their successes and landing good shots in the exchanges.

It was all on the line going into the last and again both fighters displayed good attack and defence in another tight round.

However, the a split decision went the way of the Lincoln fighter.

Nevertheless, Brazil can hold his head high after playing his part in a good battle.
