Both claimed a series of British records along the way as they dominated proceedings in superb style.

Byrne - weighing in at 57 kilos in the 59 class and lifting in the Masters 4 category - won his title with two British records.

He squatted 110 kilos, bench pressed 75 kilos and deadlifted 185.5 kilos.

His deadlift was a British Masters 3 and 4 record.

His total was also a Masters 4 record 370.5 of kilos.
