Carlton Road are establishing a lead at the top of the Orchard Health Group Division One, and defending champs Eastenders are going to be hard pressed to catch them.

This week the Road were matched against third-place Invaders, who put up a good fight against the number one team, but the final scorecards saw the Road winning all the points.

Martin Tomlin won 19-13 and Les Feary succeeded 23-11.

Eastenders dropped a couple of points to ninth-placed Punchbowlers.

For the Bowlers, Dave Peacock, Jeff Skelton and Steve Skelton won 18-17 for two very good points.

Meanwhile, Ady Field, Stuart Moore and Jordan Philpot ensured the Enders won the aggregate points with a 22-13 win.

Holland Fen were far to strong for A40 with an overall win of 54-21, the trio of Bazza Wilson, Eric Dilnot and Richard Vinter in top form.

Jolly Farmers and Boston Park shared the rink points but the underdogs the Park claimed the aggregate points with a 16-13 success from Ron Thacker, Alan Batchelor and Claire Britchford.

Rita Epton, replying for the Farmers, failed by just one shot to force a tied game.

IBC proved to strong for bottom team Red 5, skips Pete Stringfellow and Steve Cornwell with wins of 28-9 and 20-9.

Breakaways versus Parthians saw the higher team Parthians sharing the rink points with their opponents, but winning the aggregate points thanks to Phyl Bourne, Elaine Edmonds and Phil Markham, who won 19-13, which covered the 19-15 reply from Breakaways' Lorraine Stevens.

In the T&B Containers Division Two, leaders Royal Mail are looking uncatchable in their quest for a quick return to the top division with a 12-point advantage, even though they only won two points this week.

Matched against Central they missed out on the aggregate points by two shots.

For Central, skip Brian Hunn triumphed 21-13, which covered the reply of 22-15 from the Mail's captain Keith Sharp.

Strollers, in second, picked up all the points from their game against Dynamics, Alan Warne and Tony Beck with wins of 22-8 and 18-9.

Poachers, in third, were on a bye week but fourth-placed Nomads failed to close the gap as they lost on both rinks to Autos.

Skips Jeff Homewood and Norman Wright had wins of 19-16 and 22-12 against Mel Maddison and Derek Smith.

Cosmos versus the Burtons saw the higher team Cosmos winning all of the points.

Dave Fox and Bob Thompson had 26-17 and 14-9.

Golfers beat Patriarchs 37-22 for six points.

Cammacks Division Three leaders Pilgrims, with a 21-point advantage over nearest rivals Vikings, were unable to win all of the points from their game with Hotspurs.

Simon Sperring won an evenly-balanced game against Pilgrims' Neil Harrison 12-10.

Taking the additional points for Pilgrims was Ted Bourne with a success of 26-8.

Vikings, in second spot, shared the rink points with the Phantoms but won the aggregate points with an overall success of 33-28.

U3 put in a good performance against Amateurs thanks to Michael Teesdale, Michael Goodeson and Peter Copeland, who won the aggregate points for the team with a win of 15-9,covering the reply from Amateurs' Dave Coulson, Eileen Favell and Mick Greet, who snatched two points and a win of 17-14.

Shipmates versus Saxons was a win for higher team Shipmates.

Ted Vere and William Parker had wins of 20-14 and 22-13.

Bias beat Fairways 41-31 thanks to Joe Melless winning 32-5, which covered the reply from Fairways' Anthea Hall, who won 26-9.
