Elding into the final

Bostonian Elding, who represents Lincoln’s Fox Boxing Academy, travelled to Pinxton ABC to meet the South Normanton fighter.

Both boxers came out fast with south paw Cowling trying to get his jab working.

But it was the strength and movement of Elding which pushed Cowling onto the back foot as he landed great body shots.

Cowling was getting frustrated and hitting with a few low shots, also being cautioned by the referee on several occasions for holding.

Elding didn’t let it faze him and just continued to put the pressure on, looking good with his head and feet movement.

In the final round Cowling started to gain confidence, landing some great shots of his own.

But overall was a very good contest with Elding managing to hold centre of the ring and control the bout, Elding winning by a split decision.
