Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club take in The Two Bridges

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s latest Sunday ride was The Two Bridges with an extended route chosen by the riders.

The ride departed Roseway in Gainsborough town centre and progressed crossing Gainsborough Bridge and following the cycle route to Beckingham, then headed through Walkeringham, Misterton, West Stockwith and Graiselound.

Riders passed through The Isle of Axholme and the ride progressed heading through Haxey, West Woodside, Wroot.

Arriving in Sandtoft a lunch stop was made at The Happy Cafe, before they resumed through Belton, Belfoft, Derrythorpe, and Althorpe.Crossing over Keadby Bridge the riders departed from The Isle of Axholme and progressed heading through Burringham, West Butterwick, Messingham, Cleatham, Scotton, Laughton and Morton arriving in Gainsborough along Morton Terrace.The ride of 55 miles was interesting through some great countryside crossing the River Trent at two points.

Next week’s ride takes place on Sunday with rides of a variety of distances from 20 miles through to 100 miles.
