Gillespie hoping for improvement despite convincing win at Steel Cup

Kieran Gillespie returned to athletics action as he ran for Leeds Beckett in the Steel Cup.

This is a team event comprising his university, plus teams university teams from Northumbria, Manchester and Lancaster.

Kieran, from Wragby, ran the 400m and won convincingly in 55.30 seconds.

"This is testimony to how well his training has gone this winter, and with a few more races to come we are both hoping for some more improvement to come," said dad and coach Jim Gillespie.
