Gold rush for Boston Taekwondo Club

Boston Taekwondo students have claimed a string of gold medals at a national event.

Competing in Worcester, the club claimed six golds at the British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships.

Members added to the tally with nine bronzes and silvers.

For the Boston club, Evie Newby was the champion in both the under seven k1 and under nine K1 pairs sections.

Callum Newby won the under 11 dan team title and and also left with silver and bronze in the under 11 dan individual events.

Hana Rehan won gold in the junior individual section and Joanna Jadelo claimed gold in the under 11 team and bronze as an under 11 pair.

Moiza Asif won gold gold in the under 30 team event and bronze as an individual.

Sheila Jackson won silver in her under 60s section.

Further bronze medals were won by Simon Newby (over 31 team), Kimberley Stancer (under 40 individual), Alan Steeper (under 60 individual) and Tegan Parker bronze (under 11 individual).

Ziyad Rehan finished eightth in the under 17 individual category.

More than 500 athletes competed at the event.
