Myers claims big cross country win

Conditions were dry, bright and sunny for the latest event in the Boston and District Athletics Club series of Junior Cross Country Races on Saturday.

The race for runners in School years one an two over 600m was won by Henry Westwell (Bicker Prep. School) who achieved a clear victory in a time of 3 mins 31 secs.

Emily Fisher (Bicker Prep) was second in a time of 3 mins 54 secs, with Sienna Rush (Boston and District AC) third recording 4 mins 05 secs.

The year three and four contenders ran a distance of 1,500 metres around the tufty meadowland course.

Right from the start Lumin Myers (Boston & District AC) was dominant and imposed herself on the field to win by almost half a minute.

Lumin recorded 8 mins 02 secs, crossing the finish line well ahead of runner- up Erin Norton (BADAC)who improved to finish the race in a time of 8 mins. 30 secs .

Erin also established a big lead over her nearest rival, third placed Evie Large (Bicker Prep) who clocked 9 mins 18 secs.

Poppy Robinson (Lincoln Wellington AC) finished fourth in a time of 9 mins 20 secs.

Mia Clark-Atkins (BADAC) was in fifth place clocking 9mins 54 secs and Damian McNally (BADAC) sixth in a time of 10 mins. 03 secs.

Two young years five and six Gold Tops raced over 2,000m with Logan Rush finishing first in 11 mins 56secs. ahead of Jack Clark-Atkins, who clocked 12 mins 32 secs.

Over the same 2,000m course Evie Milner (BADAC) was first years seven and eight finisher, with Patrick McNally (BADAC) second and at years nine and 10 level Megan Reid (BADAC) clocked 13 mins 47 secs for her 2,000m.
