Red 5 pulled off a remarkable win over the leaders Carlton Road in the Boston Indoor Bowls League’s Orchard Healthcare Division One.

Margaret Daubney, Bill Hoges and Neil Owen beat Ian Clark, Sue Simpson-Shaw and Les Feary 17-9 whilst Ian Smith’s rink lost to Martin Tomlin’s rink by 20-13 to edge the aggregate by one shot, winning 4-2.

Eastenders proved too strong for A40 to win 6-0 and close the gap at the top to seven points.

The youthful Invaders team won comfortably against Breakaways.

Ian Tebbs and Scott Whyers skipped rinks to victory.

R. Vinter, B. Wilson and C Palmer had a big win for Holland Fen against IBC, but R. Pearson, S. Cornwell and A. Santon got a three on the last end to win by one and took two points for IBC.

Poachers secured a 4-2 win over The Burtons.

A. Bennett, B. Tingey and B. Sansam won 32-9 but D. Bailey, B. Daubney and J. Young won 23-7 for The Burtons.The Golfers got home 4-2 against Dynamics with R. Hulley, N. Ablard and G. Gallichan winning 29-5 but A. West, M. Pack had Jonathan West skipping them to a 27-8 win.

Patriarchs put in a good effort against Central but rinks skipped by B. Hunn and Fred Epton claimed all points for Central.

Colin Heppenstall, T. Kenworthy and Eddy Bell won 17-14 while Ted Vere, Richard Sharp and Mike Long won 18-17 for the Shipmates for two points.

Hotspurs won 4-2 against Fairways with Pete Ward, Brian Fairweather and Simon Sperring winning 18-12, winning eight out of the last nine ends.

C. Gill, M. Cornish and Heather Scarboro won 16-15, gaining two points for Fairways.

The strong Amatuers rink of D. Coulson, B. Martin and M. Grant won 40-7 to secure four points but Dick Dickins, Clive Newell and Mick Ross won to claim two points for Phantoms.
