Sleaford Barge Netball U16s shine at regional play-offs

Sleaford Barge Netball Club’s under 16s squad travelled to Loughborough University earlier this month to play in the regional play-offs.

Having working so hard all season to qualify, the girls played nine teams from all over the East Midlands throughout the day and produced some fantastic netball.

Showing amazing promise, skill and determination on court, they won six of their nine games to finish fourth overall, while narrowly missing out on third.

The Sleaford side finished highest of all Lincolnshire teams.

A club spokesman said: “We are so proud and would like to thank the them for their hard work and commitment.

“As a club we are excited to see the future of their netball as they move on to senior netball within our club.

“We would also like to say a huge thank-you to the support from the parents as we couldn’t do it without them.”

* Last Saturday, four of the club’s hard-working junior teams travelled to Lincoln to play their league games.

The Under 14s A side lost 30-14 to Lincoln A, while their C team beat Scunthorpe 36-8.

The Under 12s also won, 12-7, against Louth, and the Under 16s B team lost 56-20 to Washingborough.
