Two golds and a Commonwealth bronze for judo ace Ethan Steele

Competing against a high quality of opponent from many Commonwealth nations, the Friskney youngster was delighted with his achievement.

He then flew to Stavanger in Norway to fight in the Norwegian Cup where, at 15-years-old, he won the gold in the 18 years category.

But not content with that, he also fought in the men’s 21 years category, adding another bronze to his tally.

This was followed up by competing in the Welsh Open Championships in Cardiff, where he won all five of his contests to take the gold, four of which by way of submission.

In 2019 Ethan has now won the English Open Championships, Scottish Open Championships, Northern Ireland Open Championships and also the Welsh Open Championships, together with many more international victories.

He will fight in the British Championships in two weeks’ time.
