And both were left with plenty to celebrate on the journeys home following a promising start to the season.

Hide AdKieran was competing in Manchester on Saturday, where things started very well with a new personal best time in the 100m.
He crossed the line in 12.24 seconds as he placed third.
He then followed that up with his second fastest 400m ever, running 55.28 seconds in a tough race as he placed fifth.
“As you can imagine he was incredibly pleased with these performances, especially with such low temperatures,” said dad Jim, who is also Kieran’s coach.
On Sunday temperatures hadn’t improved as Jim travelled to Nuneaton - in fact it snowed on and off all day.

Hide AdJim got off to a great start as he won the discus with a throw of 25.52m.
In the shot putt, Jim added another win with a putt of 8.46m.
“I didn’t throw that far until August last year, so to get a distance in like that so early, in the snow, was a very pleasing effort,” Jim
added.
