Primary school teams have a ball at Cordeaux Academy

Cordeaux Academy staged its biggest-ever Goalball Festival last week with the event having to be split over two sessions.

Large primary schools competed in the morning, while the small schools took their turn in the afternoon.

Both festivals featured 16 primary school teams and had a squad of Y9 Sky Living for Sports Leaders ready to assist.

The teams were split into four leagues with each playing three games before playing against teams who achieved the same position in the other leagues.

Lacey Gardens 7 were the overall winners in the morning, with Lacey Gardens 5 runners-up.

In the afternoon, Fulstow 2 finished runners-up behind their schoolmates Fulstow 1 who took the gold award.

The Cordeaux Academy sports leaders helped with scoring, organising, coaching where needed and general nurturing of the primary school pupils.
