RACELINE: Tip of the Day - Friday 26th October

Start an exciting weekend of racing with a tip from the stable of Scoop Racing (Richard Silverwood)

Friday October 25th - PENNY ROSE, Doncaster 2.40 WIN

I’m keen on the chances of young sprinter KHUBALA in the 6f handicap at 3.15 here on Town Moor.

But it’s a shade disconcerting that he has suddenly been switched from Ed Dunlop to the yard of Hugo Palmer, despite a successful season.

Consequently, a more reliable proposition for the nap could be Mark Johnston’s progressive two-year-old filly on her first appearance in a nursery.

An opening mark of 86 is perfectly fair in my opinion, given that the form of her two wins so far, at Leicester and then Newbury, have both been positively franked.

It could be argued that she was disappointing when upped in class in a big sales race at Newmarket last time but she got shuffled back before running on strongly at the death.

As the daughter of a mare who won a Group Three race over 12f for Johnston, the strong, good-bodied filly will lap up the longer trip of 1m, while the drying ground should suit too.
