Racing season is all set to get under way

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club took part in The Lincolnshire Road Riding Association 25-mile Middlemarkers Time Trial.

Trevor Halstead (above) raced the event and recorded a time of 1 hour 22 minutes 57 seconds. Fellow club members Dave Day and Mark Clark cycled to the race and assisted with marshalling.

The racing season gets under way next week. On Sunday, 26th March, there will be a ride to Marton, leaving Roseway at 9.30am. The five-mile time trial starts at 11am and riders should meet near the church at 10.45am. In the afternoon, a riders’ choice leisure ride will depart from The Streat Café, Trinity Street, Gainsborough, at 1pm.

On Wednesday, 29th March, a ten-mile time trial starts on Laughton Lane near the East Stockwith turning. Riders should meet at 6.15pm. The first rider will set off at 6.30pm.
