Regional success for Boston's Ruby-Mae

New College in Leicester was the venue for the East Midlands Gymnastics Association national, regional and compulsory grades.

The Boston club took eight girls to compete at various grades throughout the day.

In the Regional Grade Three Out of Age category, Katie-Marie Parker finished fifth with a score of 58.3, while Trinity Scott was seventh on 57.6, and Colby Riley was 12th with 55.5.

The National Grade Four Out of Age section saw Ruby-Mae Hardstaff take an excellent first place, with an overall score of 61.27, which included an impressive 13.87 out of 14.0 on bars. Also in this section, Kenzie Burrell finished sixth with an overall score of 59.9.

In the Regional Grade Four In Age category, Lyle Burrell-Kenny came seventh with an overall score of 58.5, her best piece being the vault where she scored 12.95.

The day concluded with the Regional Grade One Out of Age section in which Tegan Rogers placed third, scoring 57.6, and Benodet Houston-Campbell came ninth, with a score of 54.5.

All of the girls passed their grades and will be receiving certificates.

As a result of finishing first in the National Grade Four competition, Ruby-Mae has qualified as the reserve for the East Midlands team in the national finals later in the year.
