Retford: Raising funds to help support Joe’s Paralympic dream

The Nottingham donated £650 through charity SportsAid to help him with his expenses at the beginning of 2013 and the team at the branch have been asking for donations and selling cakes to customers to top up the fund, raising over £787.24 for Joe throughout the year

Adam Moore, manager for the Retford branch of The Nottingham, said; “We are thrilled to be involved with this initiative to help someone that is part of our local community.

It is essential that we help future sports stars with their funding if we want to carry on the legacy of the London Olympics.”

Joseph’s parents have thanked everyone at The Nottingham especially the staff at the Retford branch for their support.

Joseph is now ranked third in the IPC world rankings for 100m breaststroke and fifth for the 100m backstroke and 200m IM events.

His coaches include Paralympic gold medallist Richard Whitehead and ex-professional rugby player David Jackson.
