Road Runners settle into their new home

CLOWNE Road Runners have officially made themselves at home.

The athletics club confirmed this week, with the unveiling of a plaque by president Brian Banton and Coun Karl Reid, that Clowne Community Centre is their base for training and club events.

And more good news for the runners has come in the form of new floodlights.

Club members will be able to train on grass in a fully-lit traffic-free environment on Thursday nights, from 7pm.

The sessions are led by club coach and veteran runner Andy Ward.

The Road Runners are set to host their 27th annual Half Marathon and Fun Run on 25th November, starting at Clowne Community Centre.
