The Horncastle resident set himself the task of running at least 5k (3.1 miles) every day back in November, and last Wednesday the 57-year-old reached treble figures.

“Thus far I have run 544 miles, a average of 5.23 miles per day,” said Robin, who is now on day 107 and has set himself the next target of reaching 122 days to mark one-third of a year out pounding the pavement.

Robin, a member of Skegness and District RC, is running to raise awareness and cash for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

A Rock & Roll Bingo night held recently at The Bull Hotel swelled the coffers by a further £354.50, taking his Air Ambulance total up to £824.50, while his Alzheimer’s total sits at £615.

Robin is now looking for businesses or people who would like to sponsor a space on a shirt which he will then wear for future runs.
