Rugby youngsters win at Newark

DINNINGTON Rugby Club’s Under 10s travelled to Newark for their first ever fixture against the Notts outfit, and took an overall win.

In game one the visitors started brightly with forwards securing good ball for the backs.

Good interplay between forwards and backs set up James Crane for two scores.

Although Dinnington led 15-5 at half-time, the hosts hit back after the break to finish the game level.

In game two a changed Dinnington side ran out 20-5 winners with four tries.

The Under 7s were also in Newark, fielding two different sides at the same time.

Team A drew 6-6 in their first outing with scores from Josh Siddens (2), Harry Pinder (2), Cai Thomas and Scott Fish.

In their second game they won 7-3 thanks to Fish (3), Pinder (2), Thomas and Siddens.

Two wins for Team B were secured with an aggregate of 16 tries to Newark’s six.

Scorers were William Cockerham (7), Jack Cully (8) and Henri Gavins.
