Runners record their best times

A frosty start greeted 15 members of Skegness & District Running Club as they travelled up the coast to Cleethorpes to take part in the New Year's Day 10K - and it turned out to be the perfect remedy for the previous evenings celebrations with many runners recording their best times at this distance.

Covering more than six miles first back for the black and orange of Skegness & District was Stuart Cragg in a time of 35 mins 45 secs, his fastest 10k race since 2008, giving him 12the overall.

Second man back for the club was Andy Shelton (40.23) on the line and third man was Dan Barker (Coningsby) in 40.58.

Sarah Holmes (Boston) lead the way as first female club runner home in 55.15, just ahead of Hilary Depper in 55.46.

Third lady home for the club was Helena Shelton in 1:01.29, giving her a personal best at this distance.
