Skegness' oche stars undone by Castleford

For Castleford, Josh Clough checked out on 142 in the very first leg, Neil Milton hit two 180s in his singles, Curtis Turner added two 180s in in one leg and Roy Lillyman added a further 180.

In response, Chris Simpson hit 180 in his win and Colin Lees checked out on 109 to win his singles.

On Saturday, the Liberal Open saw Josh Clough win.

The earlier best-of-five skirmishes saw Pete Evans defeat Justin Beasor, Christopher Royal beat Chris Fletcher, Rick Seaman have a good 3-1 win over Robert McColl and Curtis Turner beat teammate Tony Marsh.

The next round saw Simpson move confidently into the quarter finals, winning his game 3-0 over Neale Thomas with a 124 checkout.

He then found Clough too strong as he lost 3-1.

Turner beat Seaman 3-1 to set up a semi-final clash against Clough, the latter proving too strong for Curtis as he booked his place in the final.

Roscoe Collins, making his first appearance this year, had a comfortable victory over Matt Reeson to set up a clash with Castleford’s Neil Milton.

Milton won 3-0.

Lillyman was making steady progress, defeating Spencer Davis and then Milton to take his place in the final, which was an all-Castleford affair, Clough the overall winner.

The William Hill Darts League’s Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division Two title race was blown wide open as Seaview Raiders took on leaders Finegans.

After leading the singles 4-2, the home side then lost the first of the pairs to leave it all square at 4 -4.

Steve Gillings and Steven Emsen made it 6-4 to the Seaview before final duo Peter East and Barry Taylor won their game and the match, giving the Seaview a deserved 8-4 win.

Cricket Club kept their promotion hopes alive with an 8-4 victory over Vine.

Ex Service C were sitting pretty at Christmas, but their form has dipped since then.

They had a chance to put some pressure back on Finegans as they faced WMC Aces.

The Aces took the singles 4-2, but the Ex Service took the first pairs to level at 4-4, only to see the Aces take the last two to give the home side an 8-4 win.

Spencer Davis and Gareth Jowett got the all-important final pairs to win the match.

Chatsworth Hotel took on Liberal Us and shared the singles 3-3 , but then the away team kicked on and won all the pairs to run out 9-3 winners with D. Martin throwing wel (125, 132).

The top five teams in this division are now seperated by three points.
