Skegness stock car winner Jansen to help launch sister's career

Jansen started racing in July 2012 when he was just 12, following in his dad’s footsteps Jason who raced Brisca F2 for more than 20 years.

Now at the age of 16 Jansen is too old to race in the full contact sport and has decided to give his younger sister Amelia a helping hand.

Amelia (12) has been handed all three of Jansen’s Ministox as she begins her racing career with her brother supporting her with advice and help as a mechanic, along with proud parents Jason and Sarah.

Ministox is a full-contact sport raced by both girls and boys aged between 11 and 15. The young racers compete around oval raceways all across the country most weekends from March until November on both shale and Tarmac surfaces.

Jansen won many races and championships over the last three-and-a-half years, including the Winter Nationals at Birmingham Raceway.

He came second at the same track in the British Championship, won The Gold Cup at Buxton Raceway and also qualified for three World Finals.

Other career highlights include a third place finish in The World of Shale at Sheffield Stadium, while he also came within a few laps of taking the chequered flag to win the European Championship when a driveshaft failure ended his race at Venray, in Holland.

Jansen also raced around the streets of Coventry at the Motofest, and finished fourth last year in the National Points out of more than 40 drivers.
