Sportsmen to pay visit

Gainsborough Sporting Club are looking forward to visits from a top class caddy, famous air traffic controller, a snooker legend and one of football’s most loved commentators.

The first event is on Friday 12th October when the guest speaker will be Billy Foster, Lee Westwood’s caddy.

This is followed by 23rd November’s Ladies Evening.

In the new year they have air traffic controller David Gunson as guest speaker on 24th January.

Thursday 24th February has been selected as the Club’s race night and Friday 22nd March sees the visit of former world snooker champion John Parrott MBE.

The final event is on Friday 26th April when the guests are John Motson and Ricky George.

George was interviewed by ‘Motty’ on Match of the Day in 1972 after he had scored the winning goal for Hereford United against Newcastle United in the FA Cup third round.

All events are held at the Weston Rooms, the entertainment preceded by a five course meal.
