The whole swimming squad, poolside team, helpers, parents and siblings made the trip to the Queen Elizabeth Aquatics Centre in London, home to the 2012 Olympic Games, for a two-hour training session in the 50m pool.

For many of the swimmers it was their first time in a 50m pool and a daunting but fantastic experience.

It was difficult to explain the scale of the Olympic facilities beforehand as the pool is four times the size of the pool in the Embassy.

The trip was paid for from 2015 fundraising efforts, the squad raising £1,400 by completing a sponsored swim in the summer.

Sunday saw a tired but enthused squad back in the pool at the Embassy for another two-hour training session.
